2009 Summer Junior Police Academy

Officer's of the Granville Police Department along with Officer's from various other agencies will instruct the students on the history of Policing, duties of Police Officers, Team Building/Physical Fitness, Mock Crime Scene Searches, Fingerprinting, first aid, K9 Demonstrations, and tours of various other law enforcement agencies.

Students should be prepared to be active, and wear walking/running shoes. Please no opened toe shoes.

The Junior Police Academy will run for a week long beginning July 27, 2009 until July 31, 2009.  The classes will run from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m at the Granville Police Department.

The age group for this class is 6 to 15 years old. The Granville Police Department is committed to reach our to our youth residents.

2009 GRANVILLE POLICE BICYCLE RODEO: 

GPD Bicycle Rodeo will on June 6, 2009 beginning at 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Location Granville Town Hall main Parking Lot.  Below are photo's from 2008 year's Rodeo.The bicycle rodeo provides Bicycle Safety, Helmet Safety, Numerous Obsticle Courses, and free helmets and other safety related items. Free food and refreshments will be provided.

During the 2009 Rodeo GPD will hold a Bicycle Parade beginning at the Granville Country Store. Participants will travel east on Route 57 to Sodom Street, onto Cross Street, then to Silver Street, and finally onto to Granby Road and head towards the Granville Scoop for Ice Cream. GPD will have a trailer attached to our Cruiser for any child that maybe to young to make the journey.

A Police Escort with Two Cruiser's, ATV, and Two Bicycle Police Officer's will be provided. 2008 National Night Out Against Crime

August 5, 2009 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The Granville Police invites all residents of Granville and surrounding towns to join us in taking a stand against crime on the Town Green located on Route 57/Granby Road.

The National Night Out is designed to:

Heighten Crime and Drug Awareness

Generate support for, and patricipation in, local anticrime programs

Stregthen Neighborhood Spirit and community police partnerships

Send a Message to Criminals letting them know that Granville and Area communities are organized and fighting back.

 Granville Police Department ID-A-Child Program 

The ID-A-KID program helps the parents of young children in establishing a permanent record of their child's fingerprints.

The parents would have records that would be available to law enforcement officers, should the child become lost or reported missing.

Officers assist in taking children's fingerprints/photographs which are placed in ID-A-KID booklets or cards and then their given to the parent or guardian.
