Police patrols are the backbone of any Police Department. They handle all types of calls ranging from minor informational requests (such as directions) all the way up to life threatening situations. All emergency dispatches come through a regional dispatch center (Northampton State Police Dispatch Center). So whether you have a minor problem, or an emergency, when you call the dispatch center your initial contact will most likely be with a member of the Patrol unit.
Granville's Police patrol unit perform all of the traditional functions of a motorized patrol force. In addition, the unit is extremely service oriented. The philosophy of the patrol unit is high visibility and proactive policing through officer initiated activity.
The patrol unit's fleet consists of one marked police cruiser (Cheverolet Tahoe) and one unmarked (Ford Crown Victoria). Both cruisers are equipped radar units, laptop computers, and various other equipment.

The Granville Police Department Records unit is operated by Chief Of Police Jose Rivera.
